One day as I was walking through one of my thrift store haunts I saw this nearly full bottle of temporary hair rinse - Roux Fanci Full, I immediately think old lady..........probably because my friend's 94 year old mother use to use that product. Only old ladies use a 'rinse' on their hair. I've looked at it before at Sally's Beauty Supply when I was shopping for hair color. Normally I color my own hair, I can't afford to have it done professionally. I'm a redhead or strawberry blond (depending on how long it's been since I colored it) and red fades quickly. It's hard to find the right color and when I do it seems like it disappears from the shelves after 6 months. I never, ever was part of the popular group......especially because of my red hair....and it is continuing as I am a senior citizen. *** pouty face***
The bottle at the thrift store was the color I'd use, 3/4 full, and only $1. Aw, what the heck! I'll try it. One day, when my color was fading and I was in a hurry, I tried it. I like it, I really do. It's easy to use, the color was great, and it gives my hair some texture. The negative is that you have to use it after every time you wash your hair. I think that is what I like best, the body my hair has after I use it. This morning I colored my hair as I usually do and it is kinda lifeless. Yes it's silky and shiny but it's just flat and blah.
These are just my thoughts I wanted to share, sometimes ya gotta think outside of the box. Sometimes you need to do something different, something you would not ordinarily do, even if it's just a little thing.
I had lunch at the senior center friday with some gals from my Red Hat group. It was the last fish boil of the season. Friday fish fries are big in Wi. I missed all of the other ones because I had to work. Lunch was excellant! After lunch my bff and I stopped at the thrift store and a garage sale. We picked up a couple of things...I can't even remember what I bought. For dinner I made potato soup. It seemed like a great idea on this rainy day. What sounds good for tonight's rainy day dinner???
I seen that product and have wondered, hmmm, should I get it?! I have stopped coloring my hair and it's all natural now, salt & pepper!!! Maybe I'll give it a try

Your hair looks nice.
DeleteMy mom used to use that, too. I have tried it but when I get too warm at night my pillow steals the color.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I haven't noticed that. :-)
