Update

Today I had some good news and some not so good news.
This morning one of the owners of the company I work for told me that he had someone coming in Monday morning to learn Lisa's job. I really hope this person works out, it sounds like she has knowledge of some of situations she'll be dealing with. That also means I shouldn't have to work as much as I did when our long time accounts payable person retired....and there won't be a problem with the day of vacation I've scheduled for the end of February.
I also found out that a gal will be job shadowing me on Tuesday. One day won't be enough to get the whole idea of the job, but hopefully she'll have a good idea of what is required. The bad thing about that is it will slow me down....and when I have a 2 day work week I don't always have time for 'extra-circular' activities.
Let's hope these 2 women work out!

I got another call from hubby today telling me not to use our credit card, because there was a question with one of the charges. .....so now we're getting new cards. Hubby is pretty sure he knows about the charge in question (nothing sinister). Well, that's not really bad news, just a little curve ball in my game. I'm glad he warned me..........it's so embarrassing to be told your credit card is denied...when you are sure your credit is good. The first time someone got our number and was charging at a Target in another state. The 2nd time was when he was in Thailand and the hotel tried to run a 2nd round (of expensive) drinks on his card.

Hopefully I'll get more organizing done this weekend!
What are your plans?
Oh, probably watching the Super Bowl.....not me....hubby is gone so it won't even be on.
What ever you're doing - have fun!!

Thoughts On Thursday / Hopping Down The Bunny Trail

It's still Thursday,
And it's still January, and it's not below zero (smile), but that means snow (frown).
I'm not sure how much snow we got this afternoon, more than I wanted to shovel, so I called the neighbor and he came over with his snowblower. I had enough of shoveling just doing the walkway to the garage and driveway.
See my bunny trail?
He always comes by to leave tracks in the fresh snow right in front of the patio door.

He hopped around by the back door, it was locked.

Playing tag in the back yard?

The bunny trail from my back door to the patio door. I'm wondering what the point is.

What I am really thinking about today is work, or the fact that no one has been hired yet to replace Lisa. One of the owners told me that only one qualified person applied and she isn't available for a month. I'm wondering why? Pay too low? No one needs a job? Job is not appealing? An acquaintance of mine just hired a new office assistant and she said she had several good candidates to choose from, and her office is in a much smaller municipality than we are. I think a few prayers are in order. I really do hope they find someone who will be an asset to the business.

Today I went to the thrift store to look for a table for my crafting area in the basement. I found the perfect table, rectangle with square legs like a parsons table. It had a 'sold' sign on it. Darn! Guess that's what happens when I have to work and can't thrift. So I ventured to the other place in town and found a table there, what are the chances? So many times God puts what I am looking for in front of me. It was sturdy and heavy. Delivery was $10 and Linda (who runs the store) told me they could take the legs off  and it would fit in the backseat of my car, it did. Two guys carried it out for me.

When I arrived home I was on my own..........this is gonna be fun.....Did  I mention the fact that it's a heavy table? I finagled it out of the backseat (after putting a rug down so when it dropped on the driveway  I would't break the corner off. Once I got a good grip on the table top I got it inside without incident. The basement steps are carpeted so I decided to slide it downstairs.....and I did...but quite a bit faster than I had in mind. Gravity pulled the 2 halves of it apart (it has a leaf). I got it back together, screwed the legs back on, and had to sit inside the upside down table and kick the opposite end  apart so I could put the leaf in. Why didn't I think of that when it was apart? THEN I had to stand it up........thank God I have long arms and my mom's mantra "If there's a will, there's way."  I suppose I could have waited a couple of days to see if I could find someone to help me....but I don't have any patience and I was anxious to get things set up.

I spent all afternoon rearranging my tables in the basement and doing a little purging. I have a lot more to go through. If I was going to be home tomorrow I'd be downstairs organizing. Actually I like to get things organized, although you'd never know it if you stopped over now.

Hubby called and left a voice mail yesterday while I was at work. It amazes me that they have Wifi and can use cell phones while on a boat at sea. Just a couple of years ago he couldn't do that. He said it's hot there and they are behind schedule. It's so nice to hear him say "I love you." when he calls.

Guess I've babbled on long enough, so let's all get up off our chairs and do a "February thaw" dance!!!

Eerily Beautiful Cold Lake Michgian

I was out and about running errands and stopped by the lake to take some photos.
Can you see the steam? I know it is hard to see, but in person it is very visible.
I saw it the other morning when the sun was coming up and it was unbelievably beautiful with the orange/pink sunrise.
I had to look it up online because I wasn't sure what it was.

A steam devil is the result of frigid weather meeting with warmer water – in this case Lake Michigan – and humidifying the water into steam.

 Another planet???

View from a Lonely bench

I've said it before and I will probably say it again - Lake Michigan is so beautiful, I love to look at it when I drive by, every day it is so different! If I had time on my mornings on the way to work I could take more photos.....but you'd get tired of seeing the same ol' thing.

OK, I'm Sooo Done With January!

I'm trying something new this year - a Project Life life type of scrapbook page for every month, containing the highlights of the month.
January's page is complete, so nothing exciting better happen until February.
It's so very cold again this last week of the month.
The schools on the lakeshore are not closed, but many in the more northern part of the state are.

The Project Life or Snap scrapbook pages are suppose to be very simple and quick.
You stick a photo, some journaling, or decorative card into a pocket and that's it. The pockets are 4" X 6" and 3" X 4". You can't really tell, but the snow flakes are on a clear sheet and they are punched out of the metal seals from SlimFast.

Wish me perseverance in completing the whole year!

Will You Pick Up A Penny? and other random thoughts

I will, I'm strange like that. I'll bend over and pick it up. Today I picked up 11 cents....I am sure my bff thought I was nuts. oh well........... One day, while I was patronizing McDonalds' bathroom facilities, I found a lot of change in the parking lot right by my car. My big score!

It was blowing and snowy last night and there was a drift across our sidewalk to the front door so I called one of hubby's friends to clear the snow for me. The neighbor was out before 6 and did the front, I was hoping he'd turn the corner and do the driveway too...but no, I had to call Greg.
Our garage is not attached. I went out and shoveled to the garage and a portion of the deck. We clear a path on it because it doesn't get icy when it melts. I was almost, ALMOST sorry that I called Greg because there wasn't as much snow as I thought there would be in the driveway. The sidewalk on the side of the house did have some big drifts. We'll pay for the snow removal from hubby's expense account (for the trip).
My bff and I stopped at the big thrift store in town so I could look for a table today, they didn't have anything suitable. I did find a bulletin board for one of my grandsons though. I'd like to run to the St Vinnies in the next town on Monday to see what they have but I have a feeling most things will be shut down, it's suppose to be COLD all week....AGAIN.
What I'd really like is a specialized craft table like this:

$243.00
I do have a book case I could use for one end, the other needs to be bare, it goes against the wall. I saw one ONCE at a thrift store or garage sale...but didn't need it then. Guess I'll just dream.

This afternoon I cleaned off my computer desk in the basement, it is BARE! I threw out a bunch of old papers and it felt good!
While I was down there I was thinking of purging a lot of stamping stuff and just keeping scrapbooking items and how I want to set up the craft area. I have to get a notebook and write down every thing I plan to do upon my retirement!
Just the stuff that is in my head could take years.

Try to stay warm!!!

Fail!

Doesn't this look appetizing?
This morning I opened the microwave to warm up my tea and saw this.....It some of the leftover casserole from dinner at my bff's the other day. Pretty awful looking, huh?
I think I warmed it up for lunch yesterday while I was eating my salad and I forgot about it.

Yesterday was one of my usual run around days.....I had a new battery put in the car. I knew it was weak but was hoping it would hold on for a bit. It didn't totally die on me, but my remote starter wouldn't start the car and I was suspicious that the weak battery was the cause. I didn't see a reason to wait until the car refused to start. Sure enough, since the new battery was installed the remote starter is working like a charm.
It's so darn cold that I really need it. Monday the high is predicted to be -8. Enough already!!!  We've had wind and blowing snow today and according to facebook the roads are slippery.
Yesterday afternoon I stopped at the church about a block from my house to join a scrapbooking  event my good friend was hosting. I finished a couple more pages in my mom's book. Not many people showed up but I knew everyone and we had a nice afternoon. My friend and I were the last ones to leave. We packed up about 6 and decided to have dinner at a restaurant about a block away from the church in another direction.  We each had the cod and yummy chicken dumpling soup (my favorite). I had my friday fish fry a day early.
Today I just stayed in all day.
I want to set up a table for my Silhouette so it's easily accessible and I don't have to rearrange my craft stuff every time I use it. I have a specific kind of table I am looking for and wanted to hit a couple of thrift stores to look for one, but my need to be alone won out and I didn't go anywhere, although I spoke to several friends on the phone.
I tidied up the kitchen and bathrooms, organized some of my crafting stuff in the basement, and called the credit union and expressed my displeasure at the cost of the checks my hubby ordered. OUTRAGEOUS! I was told I can return the checks to them and get a full refund, so I will! I ordered new checks from Current. We don't use many checks. I always order mine online but hubby doesn't. He will from now on!
We've been emailing everyday. Right now they are still sequestered in the hotel, but I believe they'll go out to sea tomorrow and start working. I am not sure what kind of communication we'll have then.
Tomorrow I MIGHT check out the thrift stores or the cold might just keep me inside another day.

Try to stay warm!

Monday's Adventures

Hubby left EARLY for his work trip, and I got up at 4:30 to say good-bye to him. Some people might go back to bed but it's my day off and I like having a long day! Of course I fooled around on the computer for a couple of hours and  took a couple of  phone calls. I had plans with a friend to come over and put up a shelf in my laundry room, so I got things ready in there and the next thing I knew Kathy was at my door.
Before we got 'down to business' she had a  project to show me, we read parts of a Bible study, and we talked about the new job she's starting soon (at 56). She'll be working in an assisted living residence....but doesn't like old people. one thing led to another.......and ......I had the scrapbook I am working on for my mom on the table and we ended up looking at it. As Kathy read, aloud, the touching narrative written by my daughter and read at the 'funeral', I just bawled....hearing all the wonderful memories my daughter shared.

Eventually we tackled the first project: tightening up my kitchen faucet. I tossed everything out from under my sink, willy-nilly. Do you have as much crap beneath your sink as I do???
Kathy wriggled her way under the sink and exclaimed that she'd never seen a faucet connection like the one we have...oh oh......
We're scurrying around looking for an adjustable wrench. I'm checking in the garage, where oh where does hubby keep his wrenches? Eventually we find something she can use to tighten the small nut that was very loose. We did have a laugh about the tight space she squeezed into and out of.

On to project #2: putting up a shelf in the laundry room. I have the shelf, she has the drill (I lent mine to my sister in law), and  I have the bolts needed to hang said shelf. We gathered the level and looked for a stud finder and the right drill bit........I can't find either one......not again.
We didn't have any other choice than to go to the local hardware store to get a drill bit. Kathy finds a guy to help us, she asks for something cheaper than $12 bit he gave us....he says there's a cement bit for $6. I purchase it....as she's talking to the man who checks us out she asks if there isn't a cheaper bit....off they go and come back with one for $3.29 and I buy that one instead.
She came over at 10,  and it is now noon. I get the washer moved out of the way and we determine where the shelf should go, she marks the wall, draws a level line, and we are ready to go....right???? I was back in the garage looking for a small drill bit...and I find......a whole container of bits...........including the exact size I purchased earlier. Oh well.
Kathy gets the first bracket up.....it sure looked funny.......it's upside down. Off it comes, leaving a big hole. in the wall, no problem that gets covered up when she puts it up the right way. At last the shelf is up....but it's crooked.....she adjusts the placement of the bolts and it's much better, even though the shelf is a bit bowed in the center.  I did get the laundry room back together and put laundry supplies on the shelf. But....now remember I originally wanted it much lower and I should have bought the longer shelf and cut it down. I could add the longer shelf below the one we put up.
That room will be one of the first rooms I paint later this year so it's still a work in progress....at least it's started.

It was early afternoon and I still had to do some grocery shopping. I got that horrible chore over and made a quick stop at the thrift store. As I'm putting my groceries away my bff calls to ask if I want to come over for dinner. She was making a recipe I wanted to try so I said 'yes'.
Before dinner she and her hubby picked me up and gave me a ride so I could pick up hubby's truck  from work and bring it home. That was easier said than done, we had a heck of a time finding the right parking lot. The place where hubby works has several old, big, buildings and a maze of  driveways, roads, whatever you want to call them. The good news is that I had forgotten that the truck has an automatic transmission, not a standard.

I had a nice quick dinner at Debbie  &  Jim's. She tried a new recipe that was floating around facebook, it was good, not great.  After I came home I decided take it easy....tomorrow is another day, right??? Let's hope it is not as 'adventurous' as Monday.

I did get an email from Kevin on Monday night saying that he'd be flying out to Lagos at 9:15 (15 hour flight). Now just to wait and see.
Please keep him in your prayers, he's not in the most pleasant place to be.
Let's hope the rest of the week is not quite so adventurous.

A Couple of Scrapbook Pages

I'm just going to share of couple of the simple scrapbook pages I made on Saturday.
I picked up an 8 X 12" book and am regretting it. I purchased it because I didn't think I'd have much to put in it and I figured mom would like the colorful peace symbols on the front.
It is one of the simplest books I have done.
I had very few scrap booking supplies with me last weekend. The pretty fabric roses (that can be colored with inks)  and the butterfly are courtesy of my good friend who dumped her whole table top into a box and brought it along to sort.

My daughter and mom, Amy was in college at the time. She's the first grandchild and only girl.
The photos aren't matted and I even did some journaling by hand, I NEVER do that.

 Photos of some Christmas's past.
We always made sure to be together at Christmas. On Mom's last Christmas she couldn't get out so we brought the party to her. That reminds me that I need to add some of those photos to my Christmas pages.

The Christmas tree was cut with my Silhouette, the colored ornaments are scraps from Carolee, and the stocking is a Stampin' Up punch. It's blue because I wanted to blend in with something blue on the facing page.
The Stampin' Up demonstrator who organizes this had all of her inventory, and them some, along. It's nice because if you forget something she'll have it to use or paper to sell.
She keeps her supplies in the basement and told us she made 31 trips up the steps with bins and 31 down to get another bin. Brenda is a hard worker, the bins were heavy!!!

Hubby left about 4:30 this morning for a long  work trip to Nigeria, the return trip is not scheduled until the end of February. I got up to see him off and I'm still up! I have a full schedule this week so it will go fast!

Ta Ta for now..............I'll be back later!

Mini Scrapbooking Getaway

Friday, after work, I met some friends at the Holiday Inn for a scrapbook retreat. I dropped my things off on my lunch hour so when I arrived after work we checked into our room and then Carolee and I decided to get something to eat at the new Panda Express just across the street. I seldom get to eat Chinese so it was a treat.........we both came away with too full tummys.
This is the lobby of the hotel and it was chilly!! See those big windows covered with snow???

 Here's a prettier view.
This location is redecorating and had a 'rummage' sale in one of the conference rooms. Some of the gals bought chairs, sleeper sofas (hide a beds), end tables, tongue & groove flooring, lamps, irons, luggage racks. We saw new sets of pots and pans, clothes, hangers, pillows, towels, all kinds of stuff.
Friday night I didn't feel like going in the pool so just worked on the scrapbook for my mom. Of course I went to bed later than usual. We had an inside room, no window for the outside, so there was no way of seeing what the weather was like outside. I slept pretty good and knew my friend was a later sleeper and figured I'd wake up about my usual time. It was pitch black in our room and suddenly I was woken up by my phone ringing. I wasn't sure what was going on......I was sleeping good, I do my best sleeping in the morning....and apparently saturday morning at 9AM was prime sleeping time.
Much to my surprise Carolee was up and dressed and I never heard a thing when she was getting dressed.
I hopped in the shower, got dressed, and then we walked across the parking lot to Perkins for breakfast. I love going out for breakfast. Yes, I did work on my scrapbook all day and got a lot done.
Grandson J stays overnight on saturday and wanted to come to the hotel with me....why???
I picked him up at 5 and he wasn't bad, except when he was watching something on my computer and wouldn't turn the volume down. I parked him outside of our door and a few minutes later some one walked by and told him he had to turn it down, he did. It might have been the gal who was running the retreat, I'm glad he knows to listen to those in authority!
About 9 I was getting tired packed up and came home. The out of town gals were staying another night and I could have come back today. IF I go next year I can have 2 full days.
Scrapbook retreats are always fun, with plenty of laughter and snacks.

Today hubby took grandson J and I to DQ for lunch, J loves DQ. I'm not sure if it was the popcorn shrimp and fries I had or just the bug that is going around but I just did not feel good this afternoon. I laid down for a couple of hours and haven't eaten anything....I think I feel better now.
Lots  going on this week.
Hope you have a good week!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Thoughts On Thursday

Remember yesterday I was up at 4AM?  I bet you thought I'd be in bed by 7 last night...........wrong....I was up until after 11. I think it caught up with me today though, at 8:30 I'm ready for bed. I'll finish this post and watch some TV and then's it's off to dreamland for me.

Today I had to take my car in for an oil change, diagnostic test, etc. My grandson called me at 7:30 this morning to ask if I could pick him up from school this afternoon. I figured as long as I was in town I'd run my errands and kill some time at the thrift store if I had to before I picked him up. WRONG! I sat at the auto dealership from 11-2:30. Of course the service tech took lunch while I sat in the waiting room. Next time I'll make sure I'm not waiting over the noon hour. I did bring something to do but wasn't planning on such a long wait. BUT.....after man #1 left the waiting area I grabbed the remote and turned on What Not To Wear for an hour and then HGTV. By the time I finally left there were about 6 people watching HGTV, I almost  felt like I should give the remote to one of the guys and let them turn on something else but I was quite the rebel and left the channel on that I chose. It would have been fun to be a fly on the wall and see how long it took for someone to find the remote and change the channel.

Tomorrow after work I'm going to a scrapbook retreat. It's local, in the same town I work in, so I opted not to take the day off work....besides I have a lot to catch up on at work. My plan is to work on the scrapbook for my mom and download photos from last year.....100's of photos that are on a memory card. I'm staying overnight on friday and will be home saturday night. I'll see how it goes.
Hopefully I'll have something fun to report next week.

Yup, I'm feeling pretty empowered that I had control over the TV in the waiting area....It doesn't take much to make my day!

Time to finish packing.
Good night and have a great weekend!!!

Thanks For The Wake Up Call

at 4AM, unfortunately I was already awake, and I am sure I'll regret getting up this early later today while I am at work. It was someone (from work) returning Kevin's call.
He was outside early removing snow from last night's storm.
A big storm was predicted for yesterday, we got some snow in the morning.....and that was it. Seems like the 'big lake' saved us during the day. I went home after work and made plans to pick up 2 friends for book club. About 3/4 hour before I was going to leave the wind picked up and the snow arrived, so we cancelled.
Hubby was up early this morning with the snow blower (he has to be at work at 4:30 or is it 4AM?) and that's what woke me up.
I don't know how much snow we got but do know that it wasn't as much as some other parts of the state. There aren't any cancellations here this morning so I guess the plows are getting the job done.

He's leaving this weekend for Nigeria (for work) and will be gone at least 4 weeks. Woe is me....there'll be more snow to get rid of. He has asked a friend of his to take care of it, but Greg lives 10 miles away and has to work too. I think I will ask our next door, retired, neighbor if he'd do it for me. If he's outside before Kevin is he usually does the sidewalk.

About 10 days ago our front door handle decided to lock itself.....and no one knows what happened to the key (very odd for me to not know). There was no getting the door open. We live on a corner, so in able to get the mail we had to walk around the whole house on the sidewalk.....and it's really a cold walk when it's below zero. Monday hubby finally decided to remedy that situation and cut the latch out. Both doors need work, but not at this time of the year.

To be honest I probably won't miss hubby much the first week..... our grandson usually spends weekends here, I have plans on my days off with a friends, and work. Hubby usually spends his time upstairs with his sports cards and TV and doesn't say much. I can eat what and when I want, there won't be as much laundry, but it will get really quiet after a while. MAYBE, MAYBE I'll tackle an easy project around here. I am not sure how much communication we'll have because he'll be on a boat.

I'm ready to go back to bed now....but instead I have to get ready for work.
No news there yet, I haven't heard a thing from either of my bosses about hiring a replacement for Lisa. They better find someone soon! I need some vacation in February and in April.

If you are a fellow Wisconsinite - keep shoveling............-(
Don't you just wanna go someplace warm and sunny???

The Aviator's Wife/Book Review

I haven't posted what I've been reading lately, because I haven't finished anything.....the last few books I had did not appeal to me so I didn't finish them.
We're meeting tomorrow night to discuss the book so I knew I had to get reading.
I enjoyed the book. It's a fictional account of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's life. What a celebrity Charles Lindbergh was, what an unusual life they had!
...how they deal with the kidnapping of their first born, their different personalities (in some ways he reminds me of my hubby), the early flights, raising the children, being empty nesters, the war era.......
This book has inspired me to read more about her. There are several books listed in the back of the book to read for more info.
It's a good book, read it.

The question is: Will our book club meet Tuesday night? Our area is under a winter weather warning, with 5-7" of snow and windy conditions predicted for most of Tuesday. And I get to work in that wonderful weather....such is winter in WI.

Be sure to come back later in the week.....I have more news to share!

Surprise! Surprise!

I'm finally starting to feel 'normal' and life is getting back to a regular routine.
Friday I went to my favorite scrapbooking store, Archivers, which is closing it's doors.
Sad, sad news for many people.
I had signed up for a class for my new toy, my Silhouette Cameo. I am anxious to have time to use it for my scrapbook pages, there are so many things you can do with it!

Yesterday I got into my 'saturday afternoon' routine.....laundry and straightening up my scrapbooking area in the basement. I put the final touches on my Louisville scrapbook and got together some items for a scrapbook for an upcoming trip.
Our grandson came over and spent the night.

Today we went to church, did a little bit of homework, and he watched a lot of TV.
Mom picked him up just after supper.
The dishes were done so I decided to settle down in front of the TV and try to write a post....after I read my email.
There's one with FYI in the subject line from my co-worker.
OMG she's quitting in one month!
I'm leaving in 3 months......
looks to me like I'll be training 2 new people instead of one. We went through 2 people before Lisa was hired. Before I was hired 2 other women were hired  for my job of accounts receivable.
Wish me luck!!!

The 2 owners don't realize how much there is to learn, there are a lot of variables on my side of the job and mind reading is sometimes required too.
I can't let it worry me, I gave my notice about 6 months ago and reminded them again last week.
I guess I am not totally surprised that Lisa found a different job, she has a 2nd part time job, and I don't think she was totally happy working part time.

The next couple of months could be very interesting.......stay tuned!

Thoughts On Thrusday

It's been a week since I've written a post. I just don't don't have anything to write about.
While I was out running errands today a friend called me and we agreed to meet for coffee (she had coffee, I had my usual, an iced chai). While we were talking she says "You don't seem happy."
Guess I'm not, guess that's why I haven't felt like writing. Often, if I'm depressed or upset I don't like to write. I'm not inviting you to a pity party or looking for sympathy, just trying to explain.

Christmas was stressful, my step son refused to come to any family events. He's depressed for a couple of reasons and it's not getting any better. I'm worried but not overly so.
Right around New Year's day I developed the same chest cold and cough that hubby and grandson J had. A couple of evenings I went to be early and slept for 12 hours. I'm feeling better now.
Last Thursday hubby came home and was CRABBY and angry with me for something......
This went on for a couple of days and I don't know what it was about and never will. He DOES NOT discuss anything. Sure, you're thinking 'make him sit down and talk to you'.....it ain't gonna happen...he does not talk!!! 'It' just gets shelved.............
Even though less than 10 harsh words were said  I was still upset and after any argument I have a sort of 'hangover' and just don't feel like myself.

This week has been frigid, the schools were closed for 2 days. I remember that happening 18 years ago when my step-kids were in school. I went out one day because I had to work, otherwise I stayed inside, no make up and wore my sweats...... I kinda liked it.

So life has been pretty darn quiet here.
I think it's getting back to normal now. I worked my normal days.....middle of the week holidays are a pain.....
Tomorrow I am going to Appleton to Archivers to take a class for my Cameo. I'm pretty excited-I get to learn more about my new toy and it's my favorite scrapbooking store. But....they are going out of business. I am so bummed....I LOVED that store! My bff and didn't get there often but we sure had fun when we did take a road trip there. This will be my last visit :-(
I don't plan on buying much, if anything, now that I have my Cameo I don't need much.
Wish me luck and safe driving............I'll try to report back in a day or 2.

10 Things

I hope everyone has a wonderful new year! Did you celebrate? We didn't do a 'dern thing'. I worked 1/2 day and then grandson J came over. We had leftovers for supper (I had hoped hubby would buy steaks for us).
We have that chest cold that seems to be going around so we just laid around and watched TV, grandson J's favorite activity - it's not so bad in winter, but in summer - get outside!!!!
New Years day our big activity was baking cupcakes.
I don't make resolutions because I don't keep them, it's all just a bunch of hype.

So here are 10 things that you probably don't know (or care to know) about me.
  1. We don't have a dishwasher, I never have and am not wanting one either.
  2. I have not seen Saturday Night Fever.
  3. I do not sit long enough in front of the TV to watch a whole movie.
  4. In 1984 I went para-sailing in Cancun with my girlfriend and am so glad I did...that was my one and only chance to do it.
  5. Our first apartment was an attic, and there was no main entrance or lock, just the individual rooms locked. Oh my, the baby slept in her own room and we had to share the bathtub on the 2nd floor.
  6. I am an avid list maker, if not, I forget what I am suppose to do.
  7. My first job was babysitting and ironing for the neighbors.
  8. I am very picky....just not about food. :-(
  9. I don't like repetitive noises/activities....ie: tapping of fingers, popping gum, tossing the remote control in the air & catching it, etc.
  10. I have something chocolate EVERY day....you probably knew this.

I know, it's kind of a lame first post for 2014, but it's 'all I got'.....no best posts of 2013 for me.

Thanks for stopping by!!!
