A Couple More Books

Our book club is reading A GOOD AMERICAN. I finished it last week....but our meeting isn't until Aug 12th....I hope I remember the book by that time.
A pregnant young woman and her fiancee sail to America from Germany in the early 1900s. They end up in the middle of America in Beatrice MO, where she gives birth to a son and they settle. Life is not easy but Frederick is a hard worker and loves America. His wife, Jette. is not quite that happy in America. He does his best to be what he thinks a good American is.
The story takes us through 3 generations; from Frederick's 2 children to his grandchildren. It's told from the point of view of Joseph, a grandson.

I encourage reading any way you feel comfortable
Next I read FINDING ME, another book by one of the Cleveland kidnapping survivors. A story of strength, love, and hope. As a child Michelle's life is not pleasant at all, but compared to her captivity it's a piece of cake.

It's truly amazing that these 3 young women/girls have survived and not gone totally crazy. Their lives have been forever changed but their outlooks are so positive.
A must read.
