Clintonville - My Home Town

My home town clintonville-wisconsin has made national news...........and it doesn't appear to be a good thing. You may have heard about the mysterious booming noise heard mostly at night. No one seems to know what is causing it. There are various theories and some people are even leaving. My mother lives there but hasn't heard any noises, she slept through it. My sister and son live nearby but have not been affected. The past 2 nights have been quieter so maybe it's moving? almost over? weird, very weird.
Clintonville use to be famous for the FWD firetrucks and the Truckers high school football team...now they have a new claim to fame...... The consensus is that the cause may never be known.
Just thought I'd pass this on, if I find out the cause I will let you know.

  1. I saw a story about this on the news last night and the first thing that came to mind was fracking, somewhere nearby. Is that a possibility?

  2. Today it was determined to have been a 1.5 earthquake. I watched the online city meeting, very good. And, YES, earthquakes are possible, but not common in this part of the US.

Apparently b/c our rock is different/older?/more solid is why the booming sounds were heard and the quake was felt.

  3. I thought the name of your town sounded familiar. We just saw that on our nightly news a night or two ago! I just hollered your update about the earthquake to my husband in another room. haha
I moved to Seattle a few years ago, but I was raised and lived most of my life in a small town in southern Illinois. I think I remember many years ago talk of us being on a fault line.
