Aren't homemade books all the rage? They are so fun....I love books of any kind. Nope, I don't do any digital scrapbooking, I like to hold the scrapbook in my hand. I like to touch the papers and photos. Last week I took a class with a friend and we made this file folder book. First three of us went to lunch and then off to the long class. It's made from one file folder and scrapbook paper. There are quite a few little pieces to glue on. Fortunately (for us) they were all cut out. Here's the Halloween one I made in September. My friend, Carolee, is a Stampin' Up demonstrator and here's her blog. She is the one who taught the class. You really can't see it very good, but the top is silver glitter paper.
It opens like a book.
The top papers unfold down and there are 3 places for photos, journaling, etc.
The paper also unfolds up for 2 more spots to write something, attach a photo, or just decorate.

The bottom half unfolds down also. The one on the right has a pocket and the black piece with the penguin tucks in it.
It's much cuter in person. I'm not sure what I am going to do with it, but I love it.
Linda, That is such a clever little book. So pretty too. I bet you ladies enjoy your crafty times together. Blessings to you and yours for a wonderful thanksgiving day. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThat is really, really cute,Linda. I have never made those but I have seen others that people have made and think they are a lot of fun. I like to 'hold things', too, rather than digital. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteVery cute and sweet theme.. I need another day to make some cards soon.Probably after Thanksgiving.

It's a real work of art!! AND an art in progress as you fill it in with photos and such! Win! WIN!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I just might copy-cat these:) Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteYour file folder book is FANTASTIC, good job!
ReplyDeleteI do both digital scrapbooking and traditional scrapbooking. Yes, that means using the same photo(s) twice, but there are some fancy schmancy things I can do using the computer that can't be accomplished by hand. And, digital scrapbooks guarantee that the photos are always protected from the typical wear and tear of time. I also create videos of my digital pages and set it to music. It's fun to watch the videos just as it's fun to hold the books and turn the pages.
So glad you enjoyed the class! You sure did a nice job of describing it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting my blog and your kind comments. I love your blog; your project is so cute-I love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving,
Noreen
Oh you described it better than me! I couldn't describe it.
