What Not to Do When You Are Bored

Yesterday (Saturday) morning I was up early, talked to my bff on the phone, cleaned the bathroom, did some laundry, mailed a couple of packages, went to the farmers market and visited with another friend there, and read some email. For lunch hubby picked up brats for us from a local brat fry.... By 2PM I was bored, I didn't feel like cleaning or even reading, it was too hot to do yard work..........I wanted to do something........so I decided to go shopping.

At the consignment shop I found some new Birkenstocks and a pretty, colorful bangle bracelet for summer. I found a credit slip in my wallet from Goodwill (that I had forgotten about) so I stopped there....only spent $4 on a picture frame and storage 'thingie' for the bathroom. And I still have $7 in credit left. :-) I still owe one of my grandsons a BD gift so I stopped at Walmart. I decided upon a bike but wasn't sure of the size, so I'll get that later (now that I figured that out). While I was there I got hubby some new socks and me new undies (stuff we needed was on sale-so I had to get it).

Moral of story: don't shop when you are bored, you never know what you will find....it's cheaper to stay home and take a nap.

When I left the last store the sirens were going off, there was a bad thunderstorm in the area. As I drove through town the wind really picked up and it looked like a dust storm. It rained a very little. On the way home I saw these very interesting clouds over Lake Michigan, don't think I've ever seen these before. It's windy and starting to rain but I'm at the wayside taking photos with my phone. Shortly after I got home the sun came out and the evening was perfect.

Moral of this story: don't take your camera out of your purse.

Foolin' Around Again

Remember those 2 flower pins I bought last week at the thrift store? Well, I was foolin' around with refashioning jewelry again...... I planned to use them on a necklace and here are the results.

I had the thin, long chain from some other idea that didn't materialize. The portion of chain with the diamonds & hexagon links is another one that I had laying around with the rest of my stash.
The other 'doo dads' that I added I had leftover from other jewelry....oh, I did buy the little clock at Hobby Lobby today on clearance. I like my triple chain necklace.

Since I have a short attention span I expect I will move on to other projects soon, so don't expect more jewelry.

Ribbon Box

Isn't this the cutest little ribbon box? It's 13" X 4" and in the inside are grooves for dividers, one section for each hole. Along the back (see it?) is a groove (like a plate rail). The front latches and there is not writing or identifying marks on the bottom. What do you think this box was in it's prior life??? If you have an ideas I'd like to know. Right now it's a great way to store odd pieces of ribbon for crafting. It's a thirft store find, in case you hadn't guessed, all 75 cents worth.

What's on My Mind on Monday

Today was a perfect summer day in Wisconsin: sunshine, clear blue skies, and a little breeze. I went to my friends home today and we took her dog for a short walk in her small town. This covered bridge leads to the park. We walked and talked about a lot of things. Only 3 of my grandchildren live within 20 minutes of us, the other are over an hour away. So, in theory, we could do lots of things with the boys, but their parents don't care for me so they spend a lot of time with the other grandparents. The baby doesn't even know us. I have tried to have a normal, "hi, what's new, stop over anytime" relationship with them but for a number of reasons it doesn't happen. I really have to apply the SERENITY PRAYER to the situation and let them go.................................................

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Also, a dear friend of mine is facing a very difficult decision that will affect the rest of her life and that of her son.

There are people in her life and mine that can be so verbally abusive and mean. The whole family is one that can hold a grudge for a whole generation. I can't hold a grudge, I get mad, and then get over it. I speak my mind and if need be, I will apologize and get on with life. It eats me up when I keep it inside.

After I got home from my walk with Kathy I stopped at the thrift store, library, and finally the grocery store. Then I came home and looked at some magazines while I sat on the deck. I found a new one: My Home My Style, it's a new magazine and has lots of great ideas for decorating and building things for your home. So fun....so many neat, easy ideas........ I love to look and get great ideas, but have a difficult time following through.

Since hubby was home for supper tonight and I wasn't at work today I decided to make supper.....but wouldn't you know it....a friend invited us over for dinner about 1/2 hour after I started it...but hubby didn't feel like going.....sometimes he is such an old man. It would have been a beautiful night to sit and watch the river while visiting.

I finally captured this butterfly in my backyard tonight. Here's an interesting tip I read in Real Simple this afternoon: to remove rust on your concrete patio from iron furniture mix up lemon kool aid and put it on the stain, the citric acid will dilute the stain. Repeat as needed.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream

Have you tried these single serving ice creams? It forces me to eat only one serving. A small spoon is under the cover, I didn't use it. They were on sale for 5 for $4, not a bad price.........wish I had a coupon though. The containers are so cute, I washed out a couple and am adding them to the food in the toy pantry upstairs, they're the perfect size. Crafters could probably find a use for them also.

Gettin' Crafty

Last night I decided to fix a pair of earrings, one had broken and I really like the turquoise beads so I just put them on wires. I believe Paula at http://fashionoverfifty.blogspot.com/ often does jewelry 'make overs', so I figured I could too. While I was looking for the wires I found a necklace that I made years ago but I guess I decided it was too 'bohemian'? I made the one on the right, actually glued the 'coin' onto the green stone and used odd beads that I thought would go. I'll try to wear it this fall. The necklace on the left is kinda lame, all I did was put the green bead onto a chain...but I did add the small green & yellow bead that hangs off the larger one. The yellow is from a funky bracelet that I now longer wear but it has some great colors. Those are my attempts at jewelery making. I don't wear many necklaces and especially not in the summer....too hot....I don't want anything on my neck, whether it's hair or jewelry.

I Need a Do Over & Just Stuff

I finished reading The Girl Who Played With Fire...kept me on the edge of my seat, the main character is so different, almost a hero??? I'd recommend it to anyone. Now to reserve my copy of the next book in the series The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. This morning I picked up Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen at the library. Months ago I started reading the borrowed ebook on my Nookcolor and wasn't able to finish it and it just disappeared......frustrating. Now I finally have a 'real' book and have fewer than 100 pages to read.

We are finally having a heat wave.......I can not imagine what so much of the country has experienced with months of heat & dry conditions. It's 'only' in the 80's - 90's here and we had rain in the early morning hours yesterday. I have 2 fans on in the kitchen, where I am most of the time, so I don't have much to complain about. The bedroom is air conditioned so I am able to sleep at night. A cooling trend is on the way so things will be back to normal soon. I was almost glad to be at work yesterday......nice and cool. :-)

Do over? I guess I just need to learn to not post personal stuff on facebook....be general about things. Or better yet......don't read/post at all? I said some stuff I am sorry I said, I deleted it but too late.

Replying to your comments:
I pulled leaves off of my aloe plant and put the 'sap' on my face, a day later it was 95% better. My aloe plant has really skinny leaves....is that normal? Maybe I need to find one with 'fatter leaves' (or whatever they are called.)
For several days I've felt a cold sore coming on and I VERY SELDOM get them. I think it's from all the sun on Sunday at the beach. I tried the aloe on that too, but today I bought some Herpecin L (not many choices at the grocery store) for my lip. Wish me luck!
Another complaint: I've had a headache all day and it feels like I'm coming down with a sore throat too. Often I will get a bad one in August. Hmmmm...
Terri, I am still a natural red head....OK, Strawberry blond :-) I like it darker red tho.
Hats are too hot........although I have only worn one for our Red Hat meetings.
Cat, we were at the Fox Valley Thrift on Tuesday and it was OK.....I guess I am used to our small stores and the way they are arranged. Or maybe we were just hot and tired of thrifting by the time we got there. It's way out of our way so doubt if we'll go back. I will have to see where more are located in Appleton or Green Bay.

Tuesday's Adventure

I woke up later than I wanted to....was this any indication of how my day would go?

My boss called 2 minutes after I woke up and it was 15 minutes after I was scheduled to start my work day and asked if I was coming in to work. I told him I had taken a day of vacation so he called in Lisa to work.

I was running late (to pick up my bff) so she walked over to my house.

While I was backing out of the driveway I kept hearing a funny noise. I had backed into our recycle bin and pushed it into the middle of our street.

When we were nearly at our destination I turned on to the off ramp too soon and a red "DO NOT ENTER" sign jumped out in front of the car. Thank goodness there were no cars approaching so I just made a quick U-turn and got back on the street.

We made it safely to Archiver's in Appleton and did some shopping.....not too much tho. As you know I mainly collect and don't use much. I did pick up some paper and stickers for the Washington DC scrapbook (that I'll make in fall).

Then we headed across the block to TGIF Fridays to have lunch with an old pen pal of mine....actually we use to be pen pals but haven't written in a LONG time. We have never met before. Colleen, her daughter, granddaughter and mother drove 10 hours from Ohio to visit a cousin who lives only an hour from me. We got along great and I'd like to take a road trip and visit her next fall??? or sometime. Lunch was nice because we had buy one, get one free coupons. (Wasn't it nice of TGIF Fridays to email us coupons just for this visit???)

After our long lunch bff & I headed to a new (to us) thrift store. (it was senior day, so we saved 10%) We didn't know where it was so were getting worried when Onstar was quiet for sooooooooo long...it was way on the other side of town. The prices were a little on the high side, shoes were arranged according to color, and the books were arranged alphabetically.........but backwards from Z......strange, very strange. It wasn't as nice as some of the thrift stores we are use to. I've been in some in the south, not my fave. Ours are really clean and neat, everything is arranged by size, Goodwill has big dressing rooms with benches, guess I'm spoiled. We also stopped at Savers. I had a punch card that was over 1/2 full and I knew I wouldn't be able to use it so I found a young woman with a lot of stuff in her cart and asked "do you think you are going to buy a lot of what is in your cart?" I am sure she thought I was nuts! Anyway I gave her my card, hoping that she'd be able to make use of it. These are just a few of the items I purchased. Neither one of us spend a lot of money, but we had a good day.

I wanted to post of picture of the 4 of us (Colleen, her daughter Deana, Deb, and I but I realized....I don't have the photo on my camera....so am at Deb's mercy for it.

'Twas the Summer of '69

Actually it was the spring. I found these old photos of my and thought I'd share in case you need a good chuckle. You see, I WAS thin, fashionable, and didn't like shoes back then either.............OK, maybe I was just thin and chose the jacket over shoes.......... Didn't I say I was a natural redhead????

If you have any old photos you're will to let us laugh at I'd like to see 'em.

Red Faced!

Yes, I am literally red faced.........apparently my moisturizer and make up did not have sunscreen in it. I don't put sunscreen on my face because I count on my moisturizer to contain sunscreen...........but then I don't normally sit in the sun for 4 hours. Guess I'll slather on some cream tonight! I didn't do a very good job on my upper body either.....a few places are somewhat blotchy too. We had a warm weekend, but not as hot and humid as predicted. There was a nice breeze all day. My SIL and her son came along with me and my 2 grandsons to the beach today. Unfortunately there were still a few alewives floating in the water and once in a while you'd get an unpleasant whiff...but the beach was full and the boys had a great time! I figured the aquatic center would be packed and here there was more to do......play in the waves, build sand castles........play with dead fish... (OK, I didn't let them do that).

There was a young family behind us and the dad dug out and built this castle, he had a bunch of kids helping him. The boys had a blast!

Last night grandson J and I went to 'Uncle Greg's'........he took the boys on their first canoe ride. The dad in the back was more scared than the boys. Next time I will bring my life vests for the boys.

Hubby was crabby b/c he golfed badly on Saturday so he didn't join any of the 'festivities'. I've learned that I can do a lot by myself...........remember I am very independent, a loner, and don't need someone to 'babysit' me. I had my grandson to keep me company.....not that I needed him either. We did enjoy the weekend.

It was a Tough Choice to Make

I had to decide if I should allow my hubby to experience a heart attack and divorce me when he recovers and get what I wanted or pass it by and leave empty handed (but still with a roof over my head and food to eat). One was all I wanted.... but 'they' wouldn't let me have just one, it was all or nothing. Thank God I drive a car and hubby has the truck.....I could have my childhood memories, a part of history, and make new memories with my grand kids.....all for free.......what to do???? In the end I decided that I could not take all three of these old desks, we just don't have the room, not even for one, but I would have made room for 1. I guess I made the right decision when I walked away with only $4 Stone Mountain purse. Yes, they were at a garage sale on the curb with a FREE sign on them, not in bad condition either. *sigh* When I was a kid we played school in the neighbors basement, I and their 2 girls....fond memories. I always wanted an old desk and these were free but I knew hubby would 'blow a gasket' if I brought them home and I had no way of transporting them......so I sadly walked away.......... I told hubby about it and am glad I left them, hopefully to find a good home!

Addiction and So Much More

Today was a really nice day. The sun was out and it was not too hot or too cold. This morning I met several friends for breakfast and had nice conversation. This afternoon I sat on the deck and read for a while (gotta finish The Girl Who Plays With Fire before it disappears from my Nookcolor). When Hubby came home he talked about golfing with the guys from work (he usually doesn't share many golf stories), and then we took the convertible and went for a fish fry. We ended up at some little neighborhood bar and talked about stuff there too. His boss came in and we joked with them for a few minutes. A very pleasant day if ya ask me. Yesterday I finished the little photo album for granddaughter M (who was here on July 4th). She got it today and mom and M loved it. That afternoon a friend from out of state called and we had a nice long talk, (women stuff ya know). I had to laugh about some of her statements. Menopause has it's moments. I had 2 days off that were not productive (I like to say I accomplished something) but that I enjoyed.

Some people are addicted to crack or heroin, some to alcohol, others to gambling or sex, nicotine, or their cell/smart phones, but me? I have to admit that I am addicted to garage sales & thrift stores. On my way to breakfast this morning I had to stop at the thrift store. I got this pretty Red Hat , 2 paper back books, 2 brand new expanding files (for work) and a couple of other little things for..........$3.00. There's a small cloth purse (Red Hat too) on top of the tablecloth. One of the books is by Kristin Hannah, I just finished Firefly Lane by her and loved it. This book has 2 novels . The other book is a kayaking book that I will give to my grandson. He wants to buy a kayak and maybe he'll learn something from it, if not I am not out much money.
After breakfast I stopped at several garage sales. What are the chances of finding 2, yes 2, light sabers (at separate sales and for the same price???) The scooter I got yesterday for $2. A Santa hat for a quarter could come in handy at Christmas for one of my grand kids or myself.....cub scout neckerchief, new toothbrushes.

I wear more bracelets than necklaces..........the snow man one I'll give to one of my granddaughters. You weren't suppose to see the elastic, but I was too lazy to retake the photo. $1 for both.

Of course it's green, my favorite color..........a soft leather Stone Mountain purse with a zipper pocket on the back and several pockets inside. .....they even paid me 2 cents to take it off their hands.....it was $4.

Maybe it's a good thing I didn't accomplish anything the last 2 days......I am broke so will have to stay home and do housework.

the Friday 56

"All her life she had to choose the cheapest option, and she was not yet used to the idea the she had more than 3 billion kroner, which she had stolen by means of an Internet coup combined with good old fashion fraud."

I'm reading like a mad woman again. I have The Girl Who Played With Fire checked out from Overdrive (ebook) for only 2 weeks. Sometimes I don't finish a book that fast, but with an ebook I get ONLY 2 weeks and it disappears..........so I am reading now! I am only on p.26 but I liked the first book so I am sure that this one will be good too.

And guess what? I also received a notice from our public library that they have Water for Elephants for me. Several months ago I borrowed that from Overdrive too and wasn't able to finish it before it disappeared from my Nookcolor. :-(

I may not be blogging or cleaning but I'll be reading :-) Catch ya later, gator!

I'm so cheap that...........

I cut the corn off the cob (from the other night) and froze it for use at a later date.

I save rain water in pails to water my plants with, I also use the water from the dehumidifier for watering.

I pour boiling water from cooking on weeks in the cracks of the sidewalk to kill them. If it's cold I'll water plants with them.

I pack a sandwich on days that I work and eat in my car while running errands.

I only read free ebooks on my ereader. http://nookdeals.blogspot.com/ Free and cheap books for ereaders are posted here often.

When a tube of hand cream appears to be empty I cut it in half and eke out lots more to use. I learned that from a waitress that I worked with in my much younger days.

I make my own postcards to send to my grandchildren and often use a photo of the child on it.

those are some of the things I do so save money, what are your ideas?

Adventures in Goodwill

I agreed to pick up my nephew after work today, not a problem b/c I am only about 2 miles away and have only 1/2 hour to kill. But.......today I was done with work early. I decided to stop at Goodwill because I haven't been there for quite a while. I found some clearance clear rubber stamps for .19, they're small, about 1-1/2" square, but oh so cute. There were a ton of them but I only bought 2!
I've been on a quest for a purse organizer for my Marie Osmond bag that I'm taking on my Washington DC trip in the fall. I have a purse with pockets sewn all along the inside and I love it!!! Nothing gets lost, that is if I put it where it belongs. Yesterday I ordered a bag organizer from HSN. But.......I found one at Goodwill this afternoon. It's a beabi brand....from the Phillipines I think......never heard of it. It's new, has lots of pockets, and is large. I haven't tried it yet. If I like it better than the one from HSN I'll return that one. Ebay has on exactly like mine for $20, I paid $3.99 minus the 10% senior discount

Nice and big, lots of pockets, one big one (on the outside has a zipper). I'd prefer the center to be open though. Wish me luck.

I also found a cute pair of sandals. I usually don't wear flip flops (we called them thongs when I was young) but I wore them in the store and they were OK.

How could I forget to say that I won a door prize at the Stamp-a-long yesterday. The set is a hostess set: Occasional Quotes. Twelve very nice verses for the inside of my cards.

Now to answer some questions:
Victorine was unhappy and left her husband b/c he was cheating on her, not uncommon in that era (I guess).
The snowflake on the card posted this morning was deliberate, I thought that area needed something.

Christmas in July

I went to the Stampin' Up stamp-a-long and made some Christmas cards.

It's really hot and humid so the snow almost looks good.

Wanna Read A Good Book?

Then have I got a recommendation for you! After my usual weekend activities of grand kids (both boys spend the night yesterday) I eked out time this afternoon to finish a great book.

Yesterday I conned (not really) my SIL into having a cookout and fire at their house. Seemed like it was mostly us girls and the kids, the guys were inside watching the Brewers baseball game. Grandson J was tired, therefore crabby (I get the same way) so we were home relatively early. I made the boys take baths, J had his popcorn (he HAS to follow a routine, is that part of ADHD?), their TV sleep timer was set for 30.....and we called it a night.

Today they slept in and had a leisurely breakfast. The plan was to have a picnic at the small zoo (2nd week in a row) and just hang out. (Another of J's idiosyncrasies - he chooses something he likes and wants to do/watch it ALL the time - is that ADHD?). It started to rain when we left here so we ate at McD's (YUM YUM-NO). But it was nice outside when we got to the zoo so we walked around looked at everything, even though there are very few animals, and the boys played for a bit. SIL and her 7 year old son joined us. I stopped at Walgreen's so they could spend their money and then dropped my grandsons off at their home.

When I got home I pulled out Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah, filled up my ice tea mug, found a comfy place on the deck, and finished it....... all 479 pages of it. I started it earlier this week. We are reading it for book club. If you grew up in the 70's or 80's and are a mom, daughter, or friend this book is for you! You will not want to put it down. I bawled during the last 20 pages. If you've read this I'd like to know your thoughts.

Invisible

I just finished reading this free ebook on my Nookcolor: Invisible by Lorena McCourtney.

"She's not your average crime fighter! Meet Ivy Malone, an inconspicuous older woman who has a mutant curiosity gene that often lands her in trouble. Unlike most women her age, she snoops and pries her gray-haired self into one hilarious escapade after another. So when vandals romp through the local cemetery, Ivy can't help but put her snooping eyes to work as she launches her own unofficial investigation."

This was a good summer read, it had everything a book needs: a love interest, mystery, humor.... Great book for the price- FREE.

Ivy feels like she is invisible because sometimes people just don't see her, (she's a petite elderly lady) so she feels she'd be able to do some great investigating on her own. I read this book shortly after I read a post with the same title that was written by one of the fashion bloggers I follow, how ironic. She addressed the issue that sometimes, as women over 50, we feel invisible and we shouldn't think or dress that way!!! I'm tall and have red/strawberry blond hair and try to dress with my own personal style, so I do not think I look invisible.....but I often feel like no one hears me or cares, even though I AM opinionated at times. I'll have an idea or suggestion and no one will pay attention but later someone else will say the same thing....and I'll say "that's what I said last week!"....frustrating sometimes..... I think listening is a valuable trait to possess. I try really hard to listen to people, it comes in especially handy for gift giving ideas and for just being a friend.

Do you feel invisible? Is your voice heard? Do you listen to those around you?

Returning to Normal...

..........whatever normal is........

Grandchildren are home with their parents, hubby and I are back at work, the kitchen floor has been scrubbed, laundry is being done, etc. Yes, life is returning to normal.

I had a really nice day today: I didn't want to get out of bed at 7am (I am still tired from the weekend with granddaughter M), I wanted to sleep all day...... I met a friend (at 9:30) and we went for a nice walk along Lake Michigan. She was a little late so I cleaned out my purse (been wanting to do this for a week) and folded the blankets that were left in my trunk from the July 4th fireworks. I was actually pleased that she was a few minutes late, I WANTED to clean out my purse. I always have 'stuff' in my car or purse to do if I have to wait (for someone, the bridge, or ?). How do you react/what do you do when you have 'time to kill'? I HATE to just sit; I prefer to read or do a crossword puzzle, or if I have my Nookcolor I can read or play a game.

The alewives were too stinky for us to walk on the beach so we walked on the Mariners trail.

There are a lot of lovely flower beds along the trail that volunteers plant and take care of. It was fun to look at the flowers and try to figure out what they were. Kathy knew a lot more about them than I did. We walked and talked for over an hour, it was really relaxing. Then we went to our usual coffee place for a cold drink and some homemade soup :-)

Before coming home I stopped at the thrift store and picked up a nice Green Bay Packers duffel for one of my grandsons. The rest of the day was spent straightening up at home. Since I am a homebody and introvert I am just fine with that! Back to work tomorrow.

I did celebrate National Chocolate Day by having some of my Dove chocolate/raspberry swirl candy bar (from my Red Hat secret sister) and a bowl of chocolate ice cream after 'supper'. :-) How did you celebrate it???

National Chocolate Day

Pam over at (she has a fabulous blog for women) http://http//over50feeling40.blogspot.com/ informed me that today is:

National Chocolate Day
(so you know I will be celebrating!!! thanks Pam!)

When : Always July 7th

Chocolate Day is the perfect opportunity to eat you favorite chocolates in ample portions. Do you really need another excuse to over indulge with your favorite food treat?

Chocolate is America's favorite flavor. It's the flavor of choice in candies, ice cream, cakes, breakfast cereal, toppings, and a whole host of desserts. Unequaled in popularity, it certainly deserves a day in it's honor.

Did you know? Chocolate is a vegetable. It comes from the Cacao tree found in rainforests.

We don't need to tell you what to do to celebrate this day, do we? Eat Chocolate!

a Little Red Tomato

My tomatoes and kohlrabi. I have never grown kohlrabi before so we'll see how it goes, the little 'bulbs' are showing up already. We don't have any space for a real garden so it is in pots.

I already have a tomato!!! I am so looking forward to tasting him. I am still exhausted my the weekend with my granddaughter.

Eavesdropping

No, I wasn't really eavesdropping on my hubby. He was talking loudly enough to a golfing buddy on the phone so that I could hear him. His reply to the other guys wanting to golf at a later time "I want to go early so I can get home before noon, I have other obligations. No, it's not Linda's problem, it's mine." This was in regards to our granddaughter who is spending the weekend here. She's cute, polite, easy going, friendly, but a human tornado. The girl never stops. She sure makes us laugh :-). I was really impressed to hear hubby say it is his obligation to watch her too. He is NOT an emotionally expressive person.

Hope everyone is having a fun and safe weekend. Photos to come ;-)

the Lull Before the Storm

OK, it's not really a lull nor will it be a storm. But here's the scoop: It's another long weekend for me....gotta love 'em! This morning (same as yesterday) I'm watching the birds at the feeder (except when the squirrel scampers over). It's sunny and warm, I'm happy. Yesterday I ran some errands, stopped at a couple of junk sales (yes, mostly just junk), dug some flowers out of my compost bin (that stayed alive over winter) and planted them, then I started to straightened up the the house.

Hubby is home today.................I really need him to put the window a/c unit in the bedroom and put the screens on........but I've mentioned it several times.......and nothing......he HATES it if I nag. I can possibly get the screens down from the attic in the garage and put them on, but the a/c? No way! It is suppose to be hot and I will need the a/c. I have a box to drop off at the thrift store (found unneeded stuff in the garage yesterday too) and I have to go grocery shopping, clean and put stuff away. Our (nearly) 3 year old granddaughter will be here for the weekend. I'm a bit apprehensive because she only sees us a couple times a year and never overnight. It's back to diapers, naps, and closely watching for the weekend. M never stops.......and I mean never. She's good and a cutie...so expect to see photos...when I find the time. She'll be here Saturday afternoon until Tuesday morning.

Sunday we have a graduation party to attend. I was planning to take her to the Aquatic center with my grandsons..........until I remembered the party. No plans for Monday yet...park? Hubby will probably be golfing so I'll be on my own. I was really hoping my grandsons would be able to help with her....yes, they're 6 & 7 but they would really be a help...unfortunately they will be out of town. I'm not sure if we will go to the fireworks or not.......makes no difference to me. M really likes hubby so I hope he is here to help with her.

Tuesday night is our Red Hat night at one of the gals homes. I am co-hostess so have to make some food to bring and get other stuff ready. Hope the weather is nice because we have some fun things planned.

Happy Weekend to one and all!!!!!
